Aaron Anders discovered his passion for photography at the age of nine. By eleven, his first published photograph appeared in Kansas Bankers Magazine. He began developing his skills through 4-H, and after a decade of experience, served as Photo Editor at Chapman High School for two years. During that time, he founded Fighting Irish Photography, a student-run business supporting the school’s journalism department.

After high school, Aaron attended Pittsburg State University, where he joined The Collegio newspaper as a photographer and soon advanced to Photo Editor, a position he held for three years. Following college, Aaron worked as a photojournalist for the Salina Journal, where his work was distributed by the Associated Press and published in outlets including Farm Progress, Horseless Carriage Gazette, and the High Plains Journal.

Aaron holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Communications Management with minors in Photojournalism and Business Administration. He has been an active member of the Kansas Professional Photographers Association and the Great Plains Nature Photographers since 2011.

His dedication to community and storytelling was evident during the Chapman tornado, when he created a fundraising DVD slideshow that raised over $8,800 for his alma mater. Aaron’s photography has been viewed around the world and earned numerous awards, including Photojournalism Student of the Year (two consecutive years) at Pittsburg State University, 1st Place in the Kansas Associated Collegiate Press Contest, 1st Place in the KU Medical Center Department of Aging Contest, and recognition among the Top 36 photographs at the Kansas State Fair.
